IMA Announces Certified Management Accountant Scholarships in Egypt

The Institute of Management Accountants (IMA®), a global association of accountants and financial professionals based in New Jersey, has announced scholarships in its CMA (Certified Management Accountant) program for students across universities in Egypt.

The institute presents the opportunity to 10 students per university who are interested in pursuing the CMA certification. This includes both undergraduate and graduate level students enrolled in accredited accounting or business courses.

The Egyptian Accounting Standards was introduced in January 2016 granting institutions to hold training courses and facilitate its understanding.
With this, universities across Egypt recognize the importance of the CMA certification in helping future accounting and finance students excel in their careers. This year students from seven universities including Cairo University, Damietta University, Helwan University, Kafr El-Sheikh University, Mansoura University, Tanta University and Zagazig University were granted full CMA scholarships.

Hanadi Khalife, Director, MEA and India operations, stated: “Accountants and financial professionals need additional skill sets to evolve from ‘counters of wealth’ to ‘creators of wealth’ in order to take strategic decisions in leading organizations. We believe our scholarships will help bridge the gap of accountancy skills needed in Egypt as we facilitate the right programs needed for young professionals pursuing positions of CFOs in these institutions.”

“IMA’s CMA program helps develop young professionals with skills aligning to a business’ goals and vision. Many of our certified candidates have gone on to become CFOs in esteemed organizations across the world,” she added.

Recipients of the CMA Scholarships will receive a comprehensive package of benefits enabling them to take the CMA exam free of cost.

The benefits include: IMA membership for up to 3 years while pursuing completion of the CMA exam, entrance fee to the CMA program, registration fees for the CMA exam, and an exam support package which have a total value of more than 900 USD or more than 16,000 Egyptian Pounds.
