Under a wide-ranging global agreement, Telefonica will include the Netflix application on video and television platforms both in Spain and Latin America. In addition, this alliance contemplates the implementation of other service initiatives that will vary depending on each market.

The president of Telefónica, José María Álvarez-Pallete, and the CEO and co-founder of Netflix, Reed Hastings announced on Thursday through a video on twitter a comprehensive global agreement between Telefónica and Netflix to integrate the contents of the US multinational in the video and television platforms of the operator both in Spain and in Latin America.
In addition, this alliance includes initiatives to develop other services according to the market behavior of each region. One of the most relevant services can be the integration of the option to make subscription payment to Netflix services through Telefonica's bill.
There are still no dates for the integration of these initiatives, however, according to the statement from both firms, for the Latin American region the first commercial launches will be announced "in the coming weeks", and other launches throughout the region will be ongoing throughout 2018.
The president of Telefonica said that they are committed to their clients to deliver offers of the most complete content possible, and that the agreement with Netflix would strengthen that objective.
Also the CEO of Netflix pointed out that the alliance with the operator Telefonica "would facilitate users to be able to enjoy all their favorite content in one place".
