MA - Marshfield Gets State Grant for Dredging

Marshfield, MA will receive a grant of $200,000 to dredge near the bridge that connects Marshfield with Scituate’s Humarock neighborhood.

State and local officials recently announced the award of the grant. Funds will be provided by the state’s Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs and the Department of Conservation and Recreation.

The funds will enable the town to dredge the area under and around the Sea Street bridge which connects Marshfield to Humarock. The inlet separating the towns has become too shallow and is a hazard for boaters.

A Ceremony was held at the bridge to announce the grant with Richard Sullivan, state secretary of energy and environmental affairs, and Jack Murray, deputy commissioner for the Department of Conservation and Recreation in attendance.
